Plodine by Raphael Tonn

Plodine is a headline font inspired by the everyday observation of grinding marks caused by shopping carts on an underground parking wall. It makes use of the intensities and angles of impact of the marks, creating a sense of speed. The formal language was significantly influenced by dynamically curved arcs of Cyrillic handwriting and the combination of pointed ends and rounded curvatures from the Georgian alphabet. The calligraphic variation of stem thicknesses and the strongly component-based structure also give the typeface a very technoid impression.
